Arbor Homes got its start ten years ago when Greg Sommerhof, the president of Arbor Homes, decided to expand a small construction company after his own name in which he built 2 or 3 homes a year. Greg's background is that of a trim carpenter; he found the carpentry end of the business very rewarding, however he wanted more. He started Arbor Homes with this in mind. His carpentry background has allowed him to easily turn a client's dream into a reality. He still enjoys the design end of the business and has found the building of the business to be similarly rewarding.

Having grown from a small operation in which he was frequently overseeing the actual construction of a project into a company with 2 full-time construction superintendents plus a myriad of support personnel, Greg still operates the company with the customer in mind. His logo is, "The Quality You Demand…The Attention You Deserve", and he continually strives to live up to this. As busy as he is with the business aspect, he still makes time to meet with every client building one of his homes, whether it be walking lots, discussing custom design features or making floor plan changes and suggestions. Each home Arbor Homes builds is a source of pride and joy for him, and he is consistently on the job site making sure that his demanding level of fine craftsmanship is being met.
       
Arbor Homes does use fine quality building materials, however they believe that it is not only the quality of the material but the way in which it is installed that makes the difference in their homes. Employing their own carpenters is just one way in which Arbor Homes is ensuring that the demanded quality is met, again going the extra mile. From the moment that you walk into an Arbor Home that difference is noticeable. They are as beautiful as well built. As a trim carpenter by trade, Greg’s love affair with wood is evident in his homes. His graceful arched cased openings have become signature Arbor Homes’ style and an incredible list of standard features encompasses every project he undertakes.
